D-Foot International is the implementation group of the International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF).
The group met in Abu Dhabi between 25-27 January 2019, for a combined board meeting/governance meeting
Project definition and planning
The decision to meet in Abu Dhabi was taken just one month before the actual date and the requirements gradually consolidated in the weeks following the initial brief:
- venue sourcing
- accommodation management
- ground handling
- transfers
- visa processing
- meeting room allocation
- social programme
- AV and overall onsite technical management
- number of delegates: 20 pax
- duration event: 3 days
Project execution
Within a week following the initial brief, the prime team was appointed as the Dubai meeting organiser and:
- confirmed the room inventory with a hotel close to the airport and immediate access to the metro (explicitly requested by the client)
- developed a comprehensive project plan
- confirmed the visa process and transfers to the relevant speakers and delegates
- allocated the programme streams and topics to appropriate meeting space inside the hotel
- developed a social programme including a dhow dinner cruise and a short sightseeing of the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood
Project performance and close
The guests received a warm welcome, starting at the airport with a dedicated meet and greet service, via private transfers, all the way to a customised hotel welcome package. The prime team followed up onsite on all logistical matters and secured a flawless seminar for the group, culminating in a much appreciated “evening out in Dubai”.
