Prime organised and managed the 15th Symposium of the International Diabetes Epidemiology Group (IDEG) in Abu Dhabi, 8 – 11 December 2017

The International Diabetes Epidemiology Group (IDEG) selected Abu Dhabi as the destination for their 15th Symposium of the International Diabetes Epidemiology Group (IDEG). IDEG was founded in 1979 in response to the recognition of the growing impact of the diabetes epidemic. The mission of IDEG is to forge collaboration and exchange ideas and data on the epidemiology of diabetes to better understand and explore its causes and consequences.

To this end, the primary activity of the IDEG is a symposium held every two years as a satellite to the World Diabetes Congress (WDC). This symposium serves as a platform to foster collaboration among researchers and practitioners in diabetes epidemiology worldwide.

The symposium brought together experts in the field of diabetes epidemiology. IDEG provided a unique platform for almost 100 delegates for the presentation of new findings, discussion of essential and emerging issues in diabetes epidemiology, as well as a method workshop for 36 students to further develop their knowledge.
