IOF renews prime mandate as MENA and APAC representative

The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) first approached prime to act as their association management company (AMC) for the MENA region, following the successful organisation and management of the 3rd Middle East & Africa Osteoporosis Meeting – Abu Dhabi Regionals, which was held in Abu Dhabi, ADNEC, 5-7 December 2015.

Renewed communication

During the first year as IOF’s AMC, prime focused mainly on reviving the dialogue between IOF and it local members in the MENA region, through direct calls and sustained incentivisation of local projects, initiated and managed by the national osteoporosis societies, but which often failed to get the visibility they deserve for lack of proper direct communication channels. The activities culminated on World Osteoporosis Day, 20 October, with events organized in Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, UAE,…Here, in the UAE, Prime helped organise awarenes events at the Emirates Medical College for Girls Dubai, the Dubai Police-General Department of transport and rescue and the DU offices in Media City and Academic City.

Extended mandate for 2018-2020

Following a successful first year as IOF’s AMC in the MENA region, IOF decided not only to renew the MENA mandate but to extend it to the APAC region. As a result, prime is now representing over 60 local osteoporosis societies, with a geographical mandate spanning countries such as Kenya, Cameroon, Nigeria, Syria, Palestine, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Australia, Hong Kong,…

Within the renewed and extended mandate, the focus of our activities now lies on encouraging bilateral communication, supporting local initiatives, strengthening membership recruitment and retention, promoting global initiatives such as Capture the Fracture® and Fracture Liaison Services (FLS), the Global Patient Charter, World Osteoporosis Day and sourcing partnerships with local companies.
